Consider experiences away from the Casale too, to visit and enjoy cities and villages in the nearby area. This is a perfect opportunity to see and learn more about Italy and the culture (and the beauty!). See below for examples of tours offered.

 

WALKING TOUR
OF GIOVE VILLAGE

+ Possible Medieval Castle tour and glass of wine (or gelato) in the piazza

Giove is the village directly above the Casale. You can see its imposing white Castle at the very top, if you gaze uphill from the Casale. The Castle is privately owned and every so often, it is open for private tours. If your holiday at the Casale falls during the Castle’s tour dates, we will absolutely visit it together! The rest of the lovely village of Giove is also on our itinerary for this walking tour experience. The narrow streets and the sweeping views are impressive. We will visit the historic center of the village as I share its history and curiosities. If available during our visit, we may be able to enter 1 or 2 ancient dwellings-turned-private-apartments to show you how ancient places can be transformed into “modern” living quarters. Then, we will end our walk with a lovely glass of wine and/or a gelato at the seasonal bar in the village. You will love little Giove!

Divora Destinations - Casale delle Querce - Street food tour of Rome

The Casale is only one hour away from Rome via train. The train station is conveniently located just 5 minutes away from the Casale in the village of Attigliano. We will provide you with the round-trip train tickets to Rome and back so you don’t have to worry about it. Once in Rome, we will meet you at the station where we will begin our walk around key neighborhoods where traditional Roman foods are still being served. Along the walk, we will talk about the history and architecture of this beautiful city. We will taste 2 or 3 typical street food items and will end our culinary experience with a light family style lunch (and wine of course). We will then take you back to the train station to return to the Casale for you to enjoy the evening in nature. Join us for this fabulous day trip to Rome!
